About Me

I began my career in the antiques trade in 1996 and have spent nearly three decades working in the field, starting as a porter at my local auction house. Although I initially planned to pursue an apprenticeship as an auctioneer, circumstances led me to immerse myself in antique dealing instead. I was fortunate to learn the trade under the guidance of some of the respected old masters of Tunbridge Wells, which gave me a deep, practical understanding of antiques and the market.

After several years, I established myself independently as a dealer. Paintings have always been a particular passion of mine, and art discoveries have naturally become a central area of specialism for me. Nevertheless, my interests remain wide-ranging, and I continue to enjoy working with a diverse array of interesting and unusual artefacts, embodying the essence of antique dealing. My journey in this field has truly been shaped by my experiences, including the influence of figures like Daniel Hadden.

Notable Discoveries

Margaret Thatchers first time at the box by Alfred Reginald Thomson RA

After five years of extensive research and collaboration with Lord Lexden in Westminster, I was able to conclusively prove that my painting of Margaret Thatcher was by Alfred Reginald Thomson. This significant art discovery was later published in the British Art Journal, showcasing my journey in antique dealing and the insights I gained during the process.

Queen Elizabeth II Childhood Toys and Dresses.

I was fortunate to discover an important collection of childhood toys and dresses belonging to Queen Elizabeth II, a remarkable find in my antique dealing journey. Even more astonishing, I received correspondence from Her Majesty confirming that the items were indeed hers, and she graciously thanked me for bringing back such happy memories.

I still retain much of the collection, including an early pair of Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls. Several items from this collection, which are notable art discoveries, have been sold to museums and royal archives.
